More Visit Fun!

On the first Sunday Mom and Courtney were in town, we were invited to a friend's apartment building for a cookout. We got there in time for Ethan to put on his swim gear and jump in the baby pool for the first time. He loved it - basically a giant bathtub - what could be better?

This is our local parilla - where Mom and Courtney got a taste of their first taste of Argentine Steak - yum!

A view of La Boca as we take a nice walk around the area. - More pics on the Picasa link!

Late Blogging - But Some Good Pics!

So, Mom and Courtney came to visit us a month and a half ago, and I am finally blogging. I know it has been a while, and I have no excuses.

Amazingly Mom and Courtney got out of the US between snow events, but even with the lack of snow, they were still delayed getting down here. Nothing says a good time like a three hour delay at Dulles (on top of your 6 hour layover).

Anyways, their first full day here was a Saturday, and so we tried to get some of the "Weekend Only" touristy things out of the way. First we went to our favorite brunch place for breakfast - not touristy, but a weekend only item. Then it was off to the Plaza de Mayo.

We went for a tour of the Casa Rosada, where you can only see the President's Office on the weekend. At the tour are these guards dressed in their cool hats. This guy was nice enough to hold Ethan for a few pictures. Ethan wants that hat.

Here are some more pictures of our first full day - the Casa Rosada

Ethan's First Bowl Game

Ethan here! Well, it has been a while since I wrote anything, but I have been super busy. I have been trying to learn how to walk (before I crawl) and I have been working on getting some teeth too. Also, my Mimi and Aunt Courtney came to visit last week, so I was super busy with them.

Anyways, a couple of weeks ago was the PSU bowl game. That first picture is me, getting very excited to watch the game - GO LIONS!

This is me thinking maybe I don't quite belong on this couch with these people! Actually these are Mom and Dad's friends, who came over to watch the game. They are really nice, and didn't give me too hard of a time when the gators won!

Ahhh, here is the couch I belong on!

Christmas Day

We had a really nice Christmas this year. While we were tired from dealing with the dogs the night before (see the Christmas Eve post), we were up early to open presents. Ethan had a great time helping to open his gifts and playing with the wrapping paper.

After presents we headed over to our friend's apartment for a Christmas Day brunch. We had a delicious meal and a great time with everyone. It was a really nice (and very warm) Chritmas.

Here is Ethan, excited about wrapping paper.

Crazy Christmas Eve

Ethan here. I know, it has been a while since I blogged. I have been very busy though...playing "peek-a-boo" can be a full time job some days!

These are some pictures from Christmas Eve. The first picture is me enjoying some traditional Christmas Eve dinner of avocado. Okay, maybe it isn't traditional, but it is yummy!

This picture is of me under the tree. See that? I am in shorts! It was nice and warm here for Christmas.

And this is Dad and a scared George. Here is the story. In Argentina it is traditional to have the big celebration on Christmas Eve. Families gather for dinner and exchange gifts and at midnight they celebrate. Christmas day is generally a low-key, relaxing day to recover from Christmas Eve. The other tradition is to set off fireworks at midnight (or anytime before or after that you are feeling the need to set off fireworks)...from your balcony. George and Gracie are not fans of this tradition at all. In fact they spent most of the night on Mom and Dad, or barking at the fireworks through the window.

Not to worry about me though! I am like Dad, I can sleep through anything, so I missed all the excitement.
